wales.

this past weekend we all headed to wales. we left thursday morning and we were on our way to wales (at least we thought we were...) haha, we drove a long time and finally started our church history tour that our professors had planned for us. it was a long day and we drove way way too much-- but we saw some pretty views and still had fun. that night, we made it to our hostel. we all thought we were in wales, but i guess we were still in england, in a place called cotswalds. gross gross gross beds, and six of us were put into one room, actually the attic of the place. haha so it was a little 'claustie' in there. we all had some good laughs.

friday morning, we woke up fully rested and cleanly showered from our nasty hostel haha.. and got on the bus to finally had to wales. we visited tinturn abbey- which was pretty fun!

later, we went to the big pit. the big pit is a coal mine in wales (wales has been made famous for all of their mines) and is the last coal mine to be opened in wales. a cool thing about the big pit is that the coal from there was used to power the titanic! we had the best tour guide and he told us all about the interesting history and stories about the big pit. this ended up being really fun and i actually loved going here!

that night we checked into our hotel in cardiff and then walked down to the bay. it was way pretty and they even had a carousel so we all decided to ride it. haha, it was actually really fun and we ended up having a fun night in wales!

saturday, we hung out around cardiff and saw the main part of the city. kins and i were walking down one of the streets, and a guy was yelling out for people to come get tattoos for the big rugby match that afternoon. haha, we were leaving cardiff before the match, but we decided we should get the tattoos. we weren't thinking clearly because we ended up having big tattoos on our faces for the rest of the day-- and i ended up smearing it all over my hands while sleeping later that day on the bus ride home.

the last stop of the day before the bus ride to london, we went to the st. figgin's living museum. it was outside and was basically an old welsh town. it was really fun and pretty!

wales ended up being a really fun trip! now off to ireland... we leave at 3 am!
